I am an enthusiastic, hard working engineer that loves to learn new things! I have a passion for helping others, and cannot wait for my next opportunity.
Things to Know About Me
I have had the unique opportunity to acquire real world job experience through the co-op program at The University of Toledo. Below are a list of my job experiences that have helped mold my professional career.
Job Experiences
External Manufacturing of Medical Devices Co-op at Bayer Pharmaceuticals
(May 2020 – Present)
While at Bayer, I have had the opportunity to work closely with our external manufacturing project managers. I used lean manufacturing practices to improve a production line capacity by 17%. I also had the opportunity to create visual representations of our supply chains using value-stream mapping, process mapping, interactive prioritization matrices, and more using a python data visualization library. Some of these visuals can be found on the projects page.
Process Engineering Co-op at STERIS Endoscopy
(January 2020 – May 2020)
STERIS provided me the opportunity to work directly with a production line. This allowed me to interact with the assemblers and find solutions to problems they were having with the machines. I also had the opportunity to convert a batch production process to one piece flow during a kaizen event. This conversion resulted in a 54% increase in production and a 65% reduction in labor cost. I learned the validation process as well by completing installation (IQ), operational (OQ), and performance (PQ) qualifications. I used programmable logic controllers to automate manufacturing processes to create a more safe and productive line.
Quality Engineering Co-op at Terumo Heart Inc.
(May 2019 – August 2019)
While at Terumo Heart, I was able to gain experience from a quality engineer’s prospective. This rounded out my skills as an engineer, as I now know how to develop and create designs with quality in mind. I had the opportunity to develop filtering for CMM and vision systems for quality inspections. I also wrote test method protocols in accordance with ISO 13485.
New Product Development Co-op at Tecomet Inc.
(August 2018 – December 2018)
While at Tecomet, I learned all about the design development process. I wrote and executed test method protocols and reports. I created a design history file network and updated DHF’s for legacy products. This allowed me to gain tons of experience using Solidworks and AutoCAD. During my time at Tecomet, I played a large role in helping transition to a new documentation system.
Head Waiter and Bartender at Central Florida Restaurants Inc./The Bistro Group
(November 2014 – September 2019)
While working as a waiter and bartender, I learned valuable skills that have transitioned into my professional career. I had the opportunity to meet 50 – 100 new people from vastly different demographics each day. This enabled me to drastically improve my social and interpersonal skills. This also allowed me to become comfortable interacting with patrons that differed from myself. I also learned leadership qualities while running shifts and training other employees.
